For the 9th issue of Strike Magazine Orlando, the goal was to explore the different ways we can interpret time while also featuring Orlando local creatives such as 4Resonance, Wishbone Vintage, and Toots and getting an insight on how time has impacted their success.
This marked Strike Orlando’s first issue to include a series of interviews spotlighting local creatives. Working alongside Editor-in-Chief Tiano Valmyr, I was involved in identifying and securing contributors, as well as overseeing communication throughout the development of the issue.
Located across 14 cities in the US, Strike has published 84 print magazines and over 1,000 digital pieces, as well as garnered over 35k followers across social media platforms. Founded in Tallahassee, Florida, Strike focuses on culture, fashion, and art and aims to cultivate creative communities on college campuses by allowing students to gain 360 professional experience in all facets of content production. Strike is the largest student-run publication in the nation.
As Creative Director of Strike Magazine Orlando, I led communication and coordination across all creative teams, including styling, beauty, photography, art, editorial, and set design. I developed concepts for each shoot, created detailed shot lists, and reviewed over 100 model applications each semester. I also worked closely with the Editor-in-Chief to ensure a smooth and successful print production process.
For the 10th issue of Strike Magazine Orlando, the goal was to celebrate and give back to the local community by highlighting the businesses, artists, and environments that define the city’s creative culture.
As Creative Director, I led a team of over 50 contributors—including stylists, makeup artists, designers, and writers to bring the issue to life. The publication features in-depth interviews and visual storytelling, spotlighting voices shaping Orlando’s cultural landscape. Highlights include Flipturn, whose growing international presence is explored alongside an inside look at their album Burnout Days, and Park Ave CDs, a cornerstone of Orlando’s music scene, recognized for its lasting impact as a community hub.
Through a collaborative and community-focused approach, the issue captures the spirit of Orlando while amplifying the people and places that make it unique.
